Thanks for visiting my website.  I have been running Pilates Classes in Lower Hutt for 15 years.

I am a Classical Pilates Instructor having trained in Auckland in 2006/2007 completing Basic Mat, Intermediate and Advanced Certification.  I have been involved in the fitness industry for 30 years having trained as a Fitness Leader 30 years ago! and then teaching fitness classes from Pump to Step in gyms in Whanganui, Wellington and Auckland! Recently  ( 2017)  I completed my certificate in Therapeutic Yoga level 1.  I am currently studying online for a Diploma in Health Science.  Am loving this challenge and inhaling the information as Health and Nutrition (with balance of course) is a passion of mine.

I have worked with people from many walks of life from the young to the elderly, dancers to builders, very flexible to not very flexible!IMG_0420

Pilates is taught with building blocks which enables me to cater and teach to you and your Pilates body

I have a yoga, dancing, and fitness background and bring my experience and passion from this to my classes often altering the exercise with a dance or yoga move!

I have 3 grown-up children who have all been involved in the fitness industry.   Our eldest has/is representing NZ in Triathlons and our other 2 have represented NZ at The Worlds Hip Hop Competitions.    Pilates has been my saviour for my well-being and balance in my somewhat crazy at times life!

I like to keep myself fit by cycling and have cycled Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge x 2 2015, 2016. Tour of Samoa 2016, Cycled Kona, Hawaii finishing off with The Honolulu Century 160 miles 2015.

My husband and I mountain biked part of the Camino de Santiago (2019).  We biked from St Jean Pied de port to Leon (466km) and plan to return to complete the last 320km sooner rather than later as love Spain!  Jan (2021) Otago Rail Trail over 3 days and this was such a fab way to see this part of NZ.  We have just biked the Dunstan Trail and highly recommend it.  The views were breathtaking.

Although I have laid my running shoes to rest I enjoyed running a couple of half marathons and a number of duathlons and have an understanding of a runner’s body.

Walking is another passion of mine, especially with friends and I use this as my social catch-up.  I have walked a number of beautiful NZ walks Abel Tasman, The Tora Walk, Tongariro Crossing and The Queen Charlotte track.    We are so lucky to have such awesome beautiful short walks here in Wellington and the greater district.  The Paekakariki Escarpment Track is a great walk and so worth doing as is the Putana Chasm experience and The Pinnacles.  Hoping to do the Whanganui Canoe Journey over the summer.

I have a passion for Health and Well Being and I love to share my recipes with you in the classes and bring samples in for a tasting!

Pilates with Debs hopes to inspire others to experience the benefits of Pilates and live a healthier lifestyle.
